Google released the Android Q sixth Beta on August 7th, which is the last beta and contains finalized system behaviours and APIs. At the time of release of the last Beta, Google posted that the official version of Android Q is arriving in a few weeks.

Since, it has been two weeks from the release of sixth beta, Google is getting ready to unveil the final version of Android Q officially. The codename of the tenth anniversary edition of Android will also be revealed at the time of rollout.

Last year, the Search Giant announced Android Pie officially on August 6th, Monday. Before that, the Android 8.0 Oreo update arrived on August 21st, 2017, Monday and the Android 7.0 Nougat came on August 22nd, 2016, Monday. So it is crystal clear that Google releases new android version officially on Monday only, mostly in the late-August.

As we are already in late-August, the upcoming android update can land any moment. However, according to tech analysts, the Search Giant will announce Android Q on August 26th, Monday. So Google Pixel and Pixel XL users can receive the update on the next day, August 27th. So original Pixel and Pixel XL users can check for updates manually by going into Settings>System>Advanced System updates. Any tech enthusiasts can download official system images of Android Q and flash them. But we recommend users to wait until the OTA rollout to update to Android Q.

The next Android update includes many exciting features like dark theme, native support for desktop mode, 5G support, improved Gesture navigation with Back sensitivity, Bubbles for messaging, refined privacy & location sharing options, tightened security with storage encryption and support for TLS 1.3. As most of you know already, the Android Q update comes with Project Mainline which installs small security fixes automatically from Play protect.

As most of the original Pixel users aware, the Android Q update will be the last for Pixel 1 and Pixel XL devices. So after Android Q, these flagships won’t receive any feature updates, but may receive security updates for a few months only.
