A few days ago, some users received update notifications of Android 8.1. Nothing has changed much in the update and the security patch level also shows the same. But according to some updated users, this mid-month update contains few bug fixes like local playback from Play Music through Assistant. But the fixes may vary according to the carrier and region.
The build version of the Verizon’s Pixel 2 update is OPM2.171019.016 while that of Nexus 5X and 6P arrives as OPM5.171019.014. So interested users and tech enthusiasts can download the update through the official links mentioned above, otherwise wait until OTA hits your device.
This might be the last Android Oreo update for Nexus and Pixel devices as the Android P preview is coming in about two months. Google Pixel and Pixel 2 series devices will get the Android 9.0 P update but no chance for Nexus 5X and 6P as their cycle ended already.
