Earlier this week, ZTE confirmed that the Axon 7 phone will be update to Android 8.0 Oreo somewhere in future. Now ZTE Germany revealed when will the Android Oreo update come to Axon 7. According to the officials, the flagship will receive the Oreo update in April 2018.
The rollout dates may later change, as this is just an estimate only. By the time ZTE begin the rollout, Axon 7 might be two years old, as it was released in May 2016. So the Oreo update might be the last for the flagship.
What’s new in Android Oreo ?
Most of the popular features of Android Oreo are already known to many users. With the Android Oreo update, ZTE Axon 7 devices will get many awesome features like Picture in Picture mode, Notification dots, Power saving through App restrictions and so on.
The company also mentioned in the comments that the update features new ‘Stock+ UI’. So it seems that ZTE is going to ditch some bloatware which was present in previous UIs. Thus, the new Oreo update may heavily boost the performance of the two year old flagship.
However, recently Google released Android 8.1 with some bug fixes and Neural network API, buttery smooth scrolling, so ZTE may include some features of Android 8.1 in the upcoming update. More details about the Oreo upgrade for ZTE Axon 7 will be revealed in coming days.
The chinese phone maker ZTE, already stopped the production of Axon 7, so many customers believed that there will be no Oreo update for them. But inspired by the customer feedback, the company decides to develop and release the Android Oreo update for Axon 7.
