The G7 and V40 ThinQ are the last year flagships from LG and currently running on Android 9 Pie. The next big update for these flagships is Android 10.
LG recently announced the Beta program of Android 10 for G8 ThinQ in its home country. The program will extend to V50 ThinQ very soon, according to leaks. The users of G7 and V40 will get the first beta of Android 10 soon after V50.
According to tech analysts, the South Korean tech giant will begin the beta program for G7 and V40 in late-November, as LG promised the quick rollout of Android 10.
Since the beta testing usually takes about two months, we expect the full rollout of Android 10 for G7 in late-January or early-February 2020. The unlocked V40 ThinQ users may receive the final update soon after G7, most likely in February.
What’s new in Android 10 ?
The tenth anniversary update of Android arrived with many exciting new features and improvements. Google released the update with Security patch of September month.
System-wide dark mode is one of the key features of Android 10. Users can experience full dark theme even in third-party apps along with Google apps after updating to Android 10.
Gesture navigation got improved further in this with additional gestures and navbar can be completely hidden. So users can navigate throughout android using gestures only and also gains more screen real estate.
With native desktop mode support, LG G7 and V40 users can connect their devices to monitors or TVs and use like Desktop PCs.
Other notable features of the update include support for TLS 1.3, Battery saver schedule, Focus mode and Parental controls, bubbles, and so on.
